MISSION
To connect children and families to God and one another.
GATHER
Children will be involved in both large and small group experiences where a loving and affirming Christian community will be modeled and practiced. Through this involvement, children will learn how to live a Christian life at home, school, and community.
GROW
Children will experience the scriptures in fun, innovative ways through a variety of hands-on worship and educational activities. Through these developmentally appropriate experiences, children will embrace Jesus and grow in a relationship with Him.
GO
Using their unique gifts and interests, children will be given opportunities to actively share their faith with others in their church, community and world. Through these opportunities, children will experience a deepening faith that is relevant and life-changing.
SAFE GATHERINGS
Because we care about the safety of our children here at First Church, we are a Safe Gatherings congregation. This means that all paid and volunteer caregivers for children and youth have undergone a screening process and adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines and child protection policies. Detailed copies of our Safe Gatherings policy are available upon request from the Children’s Ministry department.
FIRST NURSERY
During all Sunday morning services
The check-in desk is in the hallway outside the Sanctuary/Atrium.
Each class will have free play, music, a lesson, an activity, and a snack. Classes are as follows:
Newborn - 2 Years Old
Preschool - 3 Years - Pre-K
FIRST CHILDREN SUNDAY SCHOOL
Kindergarten - 5th Grade
Check-in is inside the portico lobby at First Children welcome desk.
After check-in, the children enter their Sunday School classrooms and have an activity. Then, everyone gathers in the Oasis (children's area) for a big group time filled with games, worship, and the exciting Bible story of the day. Then, they break back into our Sunday School classrooms to go further into the Bible story at an age-appropriate level.
GROW
Wednesday nights, September through May
Join us for our Wednesday weekly programming! First, Children eat with their families from 5:30-6:00 p.m. Then they gather for our music time and meet in the Oasis (Children's Area) at 6:30 p.m. for worship, lesson time, and games. Sometimes, depending on the topic, we will divide into smaller groups.
