Dear beloved church, thank you for your support and generosity. You and this wonderful congregation make the amazing ministry we all do possible. Not only are things getting done, they are fruitful. They are making real differences in the lives of people. Each week, people are being fed, clothed, counseled, and loved on by Christ through you. We see fruitfulness in many area, prominently in worship, through new members and baptisms, including some very special worship services like Confirmation and Senior Sunday.
If you have supported the church financially this year, you should be receiving your giving statement soon. If you have given, I offer you my deep appreciation. In a time of sporadic weather, often attendance suffers. Your faithful financial support offers a barometer of our impact and your discipleship.
If you are not someone who has given, be in prayer how God may lead you to give and serve, financially and as a volunteer. As someone who is loved and valued, you have something valuable to offer. Even if you don’t think it’s much, every gift matters.
If you haven’t seen it already, please watch the video from our Finance Committee. Don Harris delivers us some good news and some things to think about.
Due to your generosity, we are right where we need to be financially as a church. That’s good news! And, I’d love to see us prepare for the future.
Some of our goals include raising and recruiting more volunteers. Through volunteers, we increase the capacity for ministry without having to increase the budget to manage ministry. Yet, we have reached a capacity where we need to either recruit volunteers to help us lead or hire someone for that role.
For example, our youth, children, and family ministry are growing and we’re seeing pre-pandemic numbers – yay! I’m praying for us to find a full-time volunteer or afford a family ministry assistant. We’re also bringing in more new people, new families, young families, and we have a whole community of younger and older people that need care. I’m praying for us to find someone who is experiencing a call into ministry and is willing to go through certified lay servant training, or local pastor licensing school, or for us to have the finances to place a new associate pastor. Maybe one of these options calls to you. Maybe God is calling you to follow Jesus into certified, licensed, or ordained ministry. Maybe, God is placing it on your heart to fund a position.
Whatever God has in store, I invite you to partner with us in prayer, service, and giving so that we can Connect people to God and one another as we Gather in worship, Grow in discipleship to Jesus Christ, and Go into the world in mission.
Grace and peace,
Daniel
